Black Cherry martini.

If you go to Vittorio's, you have to have Roger mix you a drink.

Thanks to all of you for your beverage suggestions. I may have to try a martini tonight.

And thanks to Gus for your menu suggestions.

Maybe its the martinis that add humor to your posts! Smile

So we did make it to Vitorios on Monday night. The service was great but the food was disappointing. Our pizza was burnt (they comped us) and the pasta was lukewarm. Maybe we were there on an off night. Didn't go for a martini, cuz I didnt see Roger there.

Last night I went down to Jillys in Naperville. What a fun place! They have a free big band on Tuesday nights and the pasta and pizza was good.

I never end up paying for my pizza because they always burn it. Your off night consisted of being there on a Monday.

My wife and I have always thought it was very overrated for the prices they charge. Food is mediocre Italian at best.

We haven't been back in prob 2yrs.

Welcoming atmosphere though.

Ditto on the food, 98% of our visits there are to sample Roger's libations. The atmosphere is another plus.

Been there three times. All three times our orders had something that was very tasty and something that was very burnt. Not a mixed drink guy, so I guess the bar thang ain't my bag. As I recall, the wine list was solid at the time.

The mussels in white sauce (butter, garlic and other goodness) are a great starter. I've never been wowed by the food but the mussels are delicious and Gus is right about the blackened calamari - I've been known to have the mussels and the calamari and call it dinner. When I do that, I am always pleased with the meal!

Happy late Birthday!
