Rumor has it, Maison Suzanne is opening a new store in Oak Park. One of the finest furniture stores in Illinois, that just so happens to be in downtown Glen Ellyn, is opening a new place at 206 South Marion in Oak Park, across from Poor Phil's (a wonderful little place owned by a friend of a friend of mine).

They look to be open this Saturday. The space is about twice the size of the Glen Ellyn store and looks absolutely fantastic, so I hear.

Stop by the Glen Ellyn store and wish Suzanne, Bryan and Melinda good luck in Oak Park, and then buy something!

The official Grand Opening is looking like sometime in August.

I think she has a website at http://www.maisonsuzanne.com that she has been working on as well.

It's fun to go on the website and see stuff that is in your house. Take that, suckers....you can't have it.

I am certain that my Grand Opening Gala invitation is being mailed as we speak.

I hear there is some amazing stuff in the new store. Beautiful stuff.

I also hear the invitation has a stunning photograph on it.

But it won't be as convenient as just going down Main Street HERE.
I don't have unlimited shpping/browsing time.

So, are they closing the GE location? Or just opening a second?

Pray that you are correct on the latter.

But also keep in mind that the village and it's employees and inspectors are total @ss aches and will wield whatever power they can in order to feed their puffed up egos.

The Glen Ellyn store is not closing. Oak Park is going to be a second store.

I hear that ever piece of furniture and or stock will be on their website, so if you see something that is located in the other store, no worries...

Wasn't trying to insinuate. It just seemed from the previous post that they were picking up stakes and moving to OP.

I stopped into the Glen Ellyn shop last week. It's changed a lot, moving almost exclusively into Asian pieces. Definitely not my area of interest so I asked the employee about it. She said, "Suzanne has always said it is not going to be all Asian, but when I look around and when the containers come in, it sure looks to be all Asian."
