Since am am never in Glen Ellyn before 5pm, has anyone gone into the store? The website is low on the content side.

Thanks

She did a knockout job on that space from inside to out. The simple act of removing that miserable awning and replacing the painted transom glass with clear was a delicious design maneuver.

Delicious design maneuver? Delicious? Maneuver?

Really?

Really, RMK. See number two. The sense I am thinking of is that of sight. A delicious visual accomplishment:

Definition of DELICIOUS
1
: affording great pleasure : delightful <delicious anecdotes>
2
: appealing to one of the bodily senses especially of taste or smell

Second that.

Marcel's is gorgeous inside. Were I a person who spent any meaningful time in her kitchen, I'd definitely be a regular customer. As I am not a person who spends any meaningful time in her kitchen, I contented myself with buying some wine bottle stoppers, hot sauce for the hubby, and some pretty little bottles to adorn one of my windowsills.

I am hopeful that the classes offered will ultimately draw more and/or new people to the CBD, too.

While I was in, several people stopped by to ask about those classes.

I know we beat this dead horse continually, but I'll venture to say that when that other new store, Anastazia (do not get me started on their spelling!) opens, at least Main Street will look pretty good again. I was in downtown Skokie for an event last week, and I was shocked by how desolate it looked. Tons of empty storefronts, empty parking lots - it made Glen Ellyn look like Naperville on a Friday night. So perhaps some of my groaning about how pathetic our CBD is has been misplaced, at least compared to other towns. (Towns that are not Naperville.)

Skokie has been that way for 10-15 years.

I am happy to hear that you found the store delicious to the eye.
