We first visited Gratto right after it opened and were disappointed. We believed the advertising and expected a Quartino-type place, which it ain't. Service was bad, food so-so although we did appreciate how they redesigned the interior. We haven't been back. Until tonight.

On a whim, and armed with a coupon, we picked up our eldest from the train station and went to Gratto for dinner. Well, I was surprised. The food was good, the service attentive, and once more I was taken with the way they refurbished the interior. We saw other families we knew, all enjoying their dinners, and to top it all off, we were able to admire the lovely holiday lights in the CBD with nary a snicker about a "Charlie Brown Christmas Tree."

Proud Hubby and I both agreed that we would be back again in the near future.
