The Golden Wok II is pretty good. I have never had them deliver but I have gone to pick it up. It's a little pricy, but the best I have found.

I know everyone is going to jump all over this, but I really prefer Chin's Chop Suey in downtown Glen Ellyn over most all the other places that were listed.
Yes, I try not to focus too hard on anything in the place, for fear that I might catch something, but I have found their food to be quite fresh, with lots of veggies, and quite tasty. Not to mention the nostalgia I have when I go in there, since I have been going in the place since I was five. Same paint as back then too...just dirtier! “In a letter to "Dear Abby" a reader complained that a gay couple was moving in across the street and wanted to know what he could do to improve the quality of the neighborhood. Her suggestion - 'You could move.'” |

I was a little concerned about that myself.

Okay I know this may be far but we used to live over there. Chinese Ho on County Farm and Geneva ( I think that would be Winfield or unincorporated Wheaton). Carryout only.
But we miss that place so much. No we settle for Dragon One not bad but not great either!!! |

Did you ever notice there aren't any stray cats in the CBD? I am neither foe nor friend to my brothers, but such as each of them shall deserve of me. Ayn Rand Anthem |

Actually, they've perked up the place quite a bit and the health department does do inspections so I think you'll be fine. I've eaten there many times with no negative results so again, I think you're safe.
Orderd Peking last night. They really do the best Chinese around here and they deliver to north Glen Ellyn! "The most valuable things in life are not measured in monetary terms. Amy, are speaking of Chins? I only ordered from there once and that was enough. We had sweet and sour chicken that tasted as though the chicken had been refried a second time from the night before and was dark as though they hadn't changed their oil in quite some time. Yuck! If I hear enough positive comments, I might be willing to give em a second chance.
BTW- does anyone know what happened to to QQ Buffet on Roosevelt, next to Blockbuster? "You shouldn't soil your Sunday pants, like those other foolish ants." |

What happened to QQ.....let's see. A Chinese buffet, IIRC....in a strip mall with a preposterous parking situation...next to a Blockbuster store...and probably had the atmosphere of an average family's rec room in the 1970s. My guess is that's what did them...in if in fact they have been done in. If they are still open, disregard the preceding as it is my policy to say nothing bad about Glen Ellyn businesses.

I think they got shut down, there is a small yellow sticker on the door. I will look this morning and report back.

That small yellow sticker appears every time a restaurant closes/changes hands. It's from the DuPage County Health Department. A friendly little reminder that they may not operate without an inspection.

One of the great, packed places in Chinatown is a spot called "Joy Yee". If you spend time in Chinatown, you've seen it. Great food, famous for their boba. It's always got a line of people getting their bubble tea. It's the kind of place that you can take friends from China and HK, and they'll get their super-authentic dishes, but you can also take your kids and not freak them out. They opened a spot in Evanston and another in that revamped Maxwell Street area north of Pilsen and south of UIC. I was really happy to hear that they opened one on the Lisle side of Naperville. It's in that plaza where Big Lots is, and it's just as good as downtown. It get really crowded on weekends, but it's the only place we go (consistently) outside of Chinatown. |

Whenever my teenage daughter tells me she's been to Chin's, I ask her if she ordered the Tabby or Siamese. She never seems to think that question is as amusing as I do. |

The sticker is from the DuPage County Health Department, just checked. You're probably right Clam, but they should at least state a reason on the sticker as not to freak people out. The first thing I think of is rat droppings and roaches.

We used to order exclusively from Chin’s, that all changed the day I had the unfortunate opportunity to go into the kitchen. We now go to Dragon One. |

Most teenagers have gotten past racial stereotypes and ignorant jokes. That's whats so exciting about these kids coming up! Ignoring generations of retardation. |

I guess that means that nobody is going to post a link to the parodies set to Harry Chapin's tune: "Cat's in the Ladle" or "Cats in the Kettle at the Peking Moon."
BTW - my second favorite site - snopes.com debunks the mystery meat urban legend. |

Like I said, I don't look around the place much when I go, and I've pretty much exclusively ordered the chop suey. A friend of mine told me a couple years ago that the DuPage County Health Department has some of the most stringent restaurant regulations in the Country. Chin's has been around a long time, so they must be doing something right to not get one of those orange stickers on their door! I doubt they have enough money to 'grease' (pun intended) the inspector. “In a letter to "Dear Abby" a reader complained that a gay couple was moving in across the street and wanted to know what he could do to improve the quality of the neighborhood. Her suggestion - 'You could move.'” |
