Has anyone used the on-site member child care at Ackerman? I'm trying to decide on joining, and only members can use child care. Is the oversight good, and is the caregiver warm, caring, and appropriately vigilant? Any feedback, positive or negative, would be appreciated.
I've heard positive feedback. I think it is only $2-3/hour, plus they don't just dump them in a room of toys. I've heard since not a lot of people use the service, there is one-on-one interaction with the kids. They can do crafts, etc. This is just what I’ve heard from someone that uses the service.
I have a friend who uses the childcare at Ackerman regularly. I know her preschool-age daughter loves going. From what I have observed - there are windows and you can see what your child is up to any time - there is a lot of free play and dressing up, as well as many arts and crafts projects.
The woman in charge always seems to have everything running smoothly.
You should ask for a trial visit, just to be sure the fit is right. I would think they would allow that for prospective members and their children.
