In my opinion, the distinction is that here there is no question but that we are all simply expressing our personal opinions and experiences. Whereas ISTM that the blogger would not be in the least displeased if someone were to mistake their blog for an accurate, objective narration of public meetings.
I'm not so sure everyone vets information sources so critically in today's world where many people consider Fox, anonymous websites, and The Daily Show as their main sources of "news."

Bench's "misrepresenting" or "slanting" of the record is actually a matter of perception. Many here choose to interpret the viewpoint as slanted or calculatedly for the old board members or against the new. What difference is there between that and what you all post as your opinions. Bench clearly states a disclaimer at the bottom of the Blog indicating that they are his/her views alone. Just because a live person titled "Bench" does not come on here and defend his/her position against your onslaught does not make that person a coward or make their identity any more relevant than yours. Ackerman.. I know your name, but just because I think your viewpoint is slanted and misrepresenting the full truth, I would never demand you announce your real identity before I would choose to listen to you....or not. “just like in real life there's still rules on this team. Unlike real life? Nobody's above the rules on this field." – Coach Eric Taylor

District 41 had a very successful outdoor education resident program at Morton's Arboretum that ended because the Arboretum powers that be decided to pursue other ventures. This program, offered to fifth graders, was held each spring and fall and if it snowed, rained, or whatever the kids dressed for the weather and still learned and had a wonderful time. The program was a resident program that involved three days and two nights of learning outdoors. Churchill Park will help fill some of the void left by the cancellation of the resident program. It also has been my opinion that most kids in District 41 have cold weather gear and have no objection to learning about nature! Fan, I agree it is hilarious!

Why would you want to save an old house as an educational facility?- Anyone been to Downers Grove PD's Lyman Woods facility? Beautiful and not over stated, with a green roof, hands on classroom with nature displays. Kids (or adults) start inside and move outside. And it actually has some real old growth forest.
