A couple weeks back (4/25) the kids had a softball game @ Ackerman. The head ump came around and said that there were dangerous storms approaching but that the lightning system was not operating. Their game was postponed and sure enough it started to downpour w/ lightning just a few minutes later.
Does anyone know if this system is working again? If you live in the area, has it been operating (i.e. such as yesterday afternoon/evening)?This message has been edited. Last edited by: NEBF,

I live in the area and did hear sirens on Wednesday afternoon, but not sure if they were from Ackerman. The units also have a light system on them, so even if the sirens aren't working, you can look at them to see if they are 'going off'.
I received an e-mail on April 28 stating that the system was working again. Umps are to evacuate the field when it sounds - whether there is visible lightning or not. The "all clear" signal is three blasts from the alert system.
