You know what I used to love about Chicago Heights? There was this store called McDade's or maybe McDaid's. It was one of those "Service Merchandise" type stores where you wrote down what you wanted and it would come down this conveyor belt from a warehouse in the back of the store. I thought it was the coolest thing. I saved all my money and bought my first 10 speed from there. Boy was I excited when my bike came down that conveyor belt.

It also had/has really nice 4th of July fireworks.

Oh - and it had a few four o'clock bars; those were fun when I was home from college.

Mama, it was McDade's and that place was awesome. I miss the conveyor belt delivery as well. Actually, if you go to Sears in Oakbrook, you can get your conveyor belt fix.....

You want to know what else Chicago Heights had, it had a golf course where the mob would lure victims for a round of golf, and then kill them as they were putting.......

mama, I hope you didn't play in the marching band at Marian Catholic. I graduated in '90 from Morton High (the real one down by Peoria). We always hated being at a marching band competitions if there were there (because they usually won).

I was one of the 5 people in the school that wasn't in the band. My musical talent can only be outmatched by my talent for making winning NCAA tournament picks (meaning it's non-existent).

But, the band continues to be as good as ever. They marched in the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade in NYC this year.

Stick a fork in me, I'm done.

I only have one possible final four contender left. Oh well. It was fun to play!
Thanks Fan!!

Well, I can't win, the best I can do is loose by one point to ClayMahToe. Luckily I have never met him and have no preconceived notions of his ability to pick NCAA teams.

I am short, balding, affable, and and about 30 pounds overweight. Certainly fat...but not obese. But I can hit an outside jump shot so long as no one is anywhere near me. In a nutshell...I can play HORSE fairly well.

I look like this...including the sweater.

You and I will get along just fine... I'm tall and fat, plus I regularly beat my 9 year old in horse.

My money is on Fish. I took Fan to the brink twice before falling to him on his home court back in the days when he was fit as a fiddle. Now that his back is shot and he has put on a couple of extra pounds (but he still looks mucho caliente!!)...I can beat him. Fish is a physical role model for all men approaching or over 40. I am not.

Cut me some slack jack. My wife has been pregnant for the last half-decade. I blame her and Jim Oberweis.

I'll out shoot Fish.

Now that you are self/un-employed and a member at Health Track, you should show up for some noon-time hoops during the week. Grateful and I would be happy to show you the ropes. Hope you hoops game is better than your paddle game.
