They PA was being used very loudly at about 7AM and change. I was already up...but I take it some people like to sleep late.

I thought the 4MP group was playing at 3:30. Was doing some lawn maintenance in the backyard when I heard the 4MP name...so I wandered over.

By the time I saw the first 230 yard run (230 yards to scale...given the size of the field and the size of the runner)...it was too late to get in an intro. I assume you were already on the field. I did hear the game wrap up...but was about to leave for Geneva.

Looked like everyone had fun.

I agree Fish. It was a little early to start with the loud speakers. I thought I was "being called" to get up and get to church.

Just to set the record straight, it really didn't bother me, my butler was the one complaining as it interfered with the preparation of the Hollandaise Sauce for my Eggs Benedict.

I saw your butler Saturday retrieving what I assume was the Trib. Your butler wears polka-dotted pajama bottoms. You have an awesome butler. Doesn't wave, though. You might want to work on that.

Fish - did you try the relatively new Ditka's in Oakbrook? What did you think? Hubby wants to try it...

a guy named clampett (no lie) announced yesterday's games. can't remember his first name.

he gave nicknames to some of the kids who couldn't/didn't come up with their own. the most clever one i heard was for some kid named Hollensbee. the announcer called him "hollensbee-thy-name."

Yes we did. I had a seared tuna. It was sushi-like. Even came with wasabi and chopsticks. I really liked it. The service was very good and most everyone enjoyed whatever massive cut of meat they ordered. Overall, however, the place was really loud and that is a turn-off for me. I have a hard time hearing with all the background noise and tend to just sit back, smile and nod a lot. What made it worse was that some nimrod turned off a real close Michigan/Illinois game in favor of the Red Sox/Indians game that was something like 11-2!! So I sat there and emailed a drunken friend of mine.

I got about 10 of them. I was at Champps slamming my fist and hat against the table for the greater part of the second half.

While nothing could beat watching the 2007 GE Flag Football Illini's Rose Bowl (due, in large part, to Clamato's attendance) that was SWEET! I-L-L!

I was waiting for the collapse the entire 4th quarter. Interesting call going for it on 4th and inches deep in your own territory. Now, didn't we have a recent discussion about going for it on 4th down? I just can't remember.

I was shocked when I got home tonight and heard the score. I was connecting through SFO this afternoon and watched the first possesion by OU. I thought "Oh, boy, this will be a rout." Congrats to the Illini nation.

Fish, I've been an Illini fan my whole life - so of course I was also waiting for the collapse. However, the tide is turning for Illini nation. And, since you brought up the 4th quarter...have you ever seen a better played quarter in college football. The Illini, with a 14 point lead, controlled the ball for 13 of the 15 minutes. I'm very happy to be an Illini today!!!

I was going to email you during the game, but last time I did that it turned out badly.
