JRP - Start your campaign earlier next year - the way things are looking for Illinois, you likely stand a good chance to find your team in a bowl game at the end of the '08 season. Smile Is your Illini flag out?

I started this campaign 11 years ago when I started dating my wife. However, this year is just a perfect storm for me not going. I've got a golf tournament in January, I'm going to Birmingham in March and we're due with #3 in May. To be honest, I didn't really even ask as I knew it wouldn't be fair.

It just really sucks that they had to make THIS year of all years.

I'm going to the next BCS Bowl for sure though.

And the flag will go up on December 26th.

Your multiple golf trips really reduced any bargaining position (i.e. "But, loving wife, Illinois has been bad for so long . . . .") you may have had. Wink

Go Illini!

Hey JRP - How's the UPS guy recovering from your vicious guard dog's mistaking him for an intruder? Does your homeowner's policy cover that? Eek

It should cover it. Not sure if it covers the over-under shotgun though.

Don't know why you're all getting so excited about Illinois is going to get their butts kicked all over that field. Figure they will lose by at least two touchdowns. As usual the Big Ten will loose all of its big Bowl Games.

The only good thing is that our corrupt Illinois politicians ( apologize for being redundant ) who somehow got face value tickets imagine that favortism in Illinois hard to believe will be forced to watch them get their butts kicked all over that field GO TROJANS .

Fact is Illinois doesn't deserve to be there only because they bring higher ratings are they allowed in the game come Jan 2 you will all realize how pathetic the non-fighting Illini really are.

Get this guy a job at ESPN. Way to go out on a limb with your prediction...considering the spread is -14.

Why do I bother responding?

TP:

That was the meanest thing I have ever read. By chance, do you spend your off hours stomping puppies and informing 6 year-olds that Santa doesn't exist? Granted, the Illini may have an uphill battle on its hands, but things do happen. Hey, remember when Elmhurst College beat Augustana in football a few years back? SC is ripe for a let down. In this case that may mean winning by only 3.

I am willing to bet a shiny new $20 Starbucks card on Illinois covering the spread. Yes or no?

Will CalTech screw up the scoreboard like they did the last time the Illini puked on their shoes?

Big Day for the Illini!

Although I'm not so sure that it is going to end well...it's a big day nonetheless!

potts: while at the bull's game yesterday i was observing the scoreboard as it scrolled through its typical welcome messages -- you know, like "the chicago bulls welcome batavia boy scout troop 521, etc."

i did a quick double-take as the sign welcomed the potts family. . . any chance you were at the game?

btw, good luck illini.
