As a Purdue alum, I want to state publicly that our Purdue-household is actually cheering for Illinois - so get it together, man! Wisconsin blew it today already. Michigan State lost, Indiana lost. It's down to Illinois and Ohio State.

Agreed, but last series proved the Illini can play with SC. Let's hope they cover the spread in 2nd half...I-L-L!

Well once again the non-fighting Illini failed to show up for a big game. Proving that they didn't deserve to be there. The only reason they were even there was the T.V ratings and that they "travel" well . I'm sure our politicians had some left over campaign money just sitting around doing nothing so I'm sure they had a pretty good time out there on our dime of course.
Either Missouri or Georgia would have given USC a better game than the Illini did. And as for the rest of that pathetic conference known as the big ten Purdue managed a three point victory over that football powerhouse Central Michigan, And Penn State beat unranked Texas A&M The only bright spot was Michigan's beating Florida. So the only way for a big Ten Team to win a bowl game is to play an unranked school or for the coach to announce his retirement after being there twenty years .
I see the Illini Basketball team is heading for a dismal season who did they lose to Middle Tennessee State.
So fan maybe you might want to hide that flag.

Speaking of sports actually worth watching yesterday, did anyone catch the Winter Classic with Buffalo playing Pittsburgh? NHL outside. In Buffalo. In the snow. Pure genius.

My son and I were stuck in between watching the hockey game and the Michigan Football game....BTW, that was the best bowl game so far....what a game....
But yes clam, that was genius and the weather that they had with the snow made it more memorable...

Taxpayer, you must have had a bad holiday...Central Michigan is actually a pretty solid team - sort of like NIU during those good years just a couple years ago. Nonetheless, Purdue beat them very handily earlier in the season. Purdue notoriously blows it in playoffs - whether basketball or football. I'm just glad that they actually won!

Snapshots of Illini fandom thru the years. 1st game as an undergrad, wearing a stupid orange vest in block I as the Illini battled powerhouse Wisconsin to a 0-0 tie. Senior year, road trip to Michigan, with the final result something like 70-10. Law school, road trip to the Rose Bowl. I can still remember the chant: U (clap clap clap) C (clap clap clap) L (clap clap clap) A (clap clap clap) UCLA fight, fight, fight!
Oh well, there was always the basketball team's success to carry us through. Will someone friggin block out Higgins?! And I SWEAR Bennett carried the ball...
Not knocking the school's rep as an educational institution. But man do they $UCK as far as sports teams go.

No, it was probably #58 from USC. After killing our whole offense, he probably came to Glen Ellyn to eat the flag.

That #58 was unbelieveable, I agree, he would look great in a Bears uniform.
