Bears fan, the draft is upon us. A time of hope renewed.
Whom would you like to see the Bears take?

I'd like to see them pick the Illini's Rashard Mendenhall if he's on the board. I know they need help on the O-line, but I think a top flight back will open things up. Pick up a left tackle in round 2, a receiver in round 3.

You've just got to go offensive line. The current guys are done. How Kreutz has made some many pro-Bowls is beyond me. I'd like to see at least 3 off. linemen in camp from this draft, if not four. Hold off on RB and QB until the line is shored up. Otherwise you're throwing them to the wolves.

I agree with 87.

Agreed. Offensive line. Nothing moves without the big men up front. Disclaimer, my son is an offensive left tackle. So, is the running back talk just a smoke screen?

It is painfully obvious, what the glaring needs are. HELP UP FRONT!!!!!! They are old and slow on the line, and if you have a young mobile group that can play, your RB situation will take care of itself.

Let's not kid ourselves, Benson is one hell of a back, if he had a line to block for him. The guy punishes people when they try to tackle him. The problem he has is our offensive line was so crappy, he never was able to get a nice seal block that he could take advantage of for a decent run.

I also would like them to trade that jerk Urlacher. Get something for him now, before his neck problem gets to the point where he can't play and you have extended his contract and lose money.....

Thanks, Yoss. Smile

In the article posted above, his mom Sybil said she had to sit all of the relatives down for a talk. She said, "We had to. Everyone was making their list and checking it twice, thinking he's going to be Santa Claus, and it's just not going to be like that."

"We had to say, ' . . . Don't quit your day job. If you have a raggedy car, you'll still have a raggedy car next week.'"

"I'm good at saying 'no' - real good. There's going to be a lot of 'nos'."

Sounds like a tough cookie! Oh - exceptions made for a relative's college tuition - IF they are getting good grades.

Benson is a head case and is done. All the talent in the world, but he went mental when he realized his teammates hated him and gets absolutely worked by nominal defensive talent.

Jonathon Stewart will be the best back taken in this draft - unless the Panthers take him (they suck). He'll be the Joe Addai of this year's draft (prototypical NFL back, coming off of semi-questionable injury). Mendenhall will be servicable, but never a breakout stud RB. Him and Felix Jones are benefitting by the fact that this is a down year for 1st/2nd Rd RBs and McFadden has SEVERE character issues and Stewart has a turf-toe issue.

That being said, Bears won't take him. Someone is going to fall down to the Bears.... if it's Clady, jump on this guy and he'll be here for 12 yrs. If Ellis and/or Matt Ryan fall down to the Bears, trade out of the spot (Cowboys? Chiefs?) and pick up Stewart or the best OL line in that 17-21 area, then do what it takes to get Joe Flacco in Rd. 2.
