God, I hate the Yankees. More than I love the Red Sox. I just can't stand them. If any other team were about to overtake the Red Sox...it wouldn't bother me that much. I am the rare breed of sports fan that hates the Yankees more than I love my favorite team. Exceot for Derek Jeter...who, unfortunately, is a stud. Wouldn't mind having him on the Boston payroll.
The Yankees have a pretty good shot of running the table over their last 9 games. They play teams that very well could have lost to Glen Ellyn 125 years ago at Lake Ellyn Park. And I think that Glen Ellyn team lost to a Chicago team 108-2. I know this because there is a sign that says so.
Clam: Sorry about that Bucky Dent shot. If the White Sox would have held on to him, he would never have wrecked your world with the Bronx Zoo in 1978. Or maybe it was Bob Lemon.
Ronald, Ronald, Ronald. I can't believe you passed up a chance to pile on about the Cubs. Are you getting old or are you just reminiscing about 2005 and letting it sweep you up in feelings of love and harmony?
I too being raised on the Chicago North Side, I wanted to say something but I couldn't. Plus some of my family are Mets fans and some are Sox fans. We have good discussions at my house.

Who needs to pile on? Those days ended in 2005 when I converted your daughter into a Sox fan. If only you Cubs fans knew the joy that Clam and I feel about our teams. It makes losing tougher. What will you do with the never ending angst if your boys in blue win?
By the way, if ND continues on their magic road, they will be knocking on your son's door.
Thanks for all of your help with my kids. My daughter's a Sox fan and she hasn't done well on a test since you converted her. My son worships Touchdown Jesus and hums the fight song in his sleep. I was hoping for a house full of Cub fans who wanted to go to Northwestern, since I look good in blue and purple.
P.S. From over my shoulder, my daughter wants it noted that her test scores have not lowered. She's as bright, beautiful, shiny and clean as she's ever been. Oh, and she smells good, too. P.P.S. See, you Sox fans have no sense of humor.
"Notre Dame showed what ****** they are...not releasing that Jones kid from his scholarship...now he has to pay for NIU for 1 year....prolly only 15k, but a lot to a kid from the s side public league....i hate ND"
I agreed with him....then he sent me this:
"i saw a stat that eric gagne has had only one 1,2,3 inning since he went to bawston.....ONE!!!"
Then we went and looked at the bottle near the train station.
Clam --- The Bo Sox are a game-and-a-half ahead of the Yanks. You should be happy. The Cubs are just as far ahead of Milwaukee and I'm nearly giddy. It's late in September. You're team is in first. This is a time to enjoy.
What is it about Sox fans, Red and White? Is your paper Old Style cup always half empty?
P.S. I just want it noted for the record, ronkas is the reason my son is a Fighting Irish fan. I've been Irish all my life, and I can fight with the best of them, but I've never been a fan of Notre Dame. He caught my children when they were young and impressionable and he took advantage of their naivete. He made them like bad people. Teams whose mascots are mean leprechauns and foot garments should not be adored.

My team is about to make the biggest fall from grace in MLB since the '69 Cubs. And it has nothing to do with their poor play. They are playing well. It's just that the Yankees, spawns of Satan...all of them (except for Jeter), have been playing out of their Firkin minds. Just insane.
Re: ND...I don't hate them as much as I just don't like them. Their success or failure causes me no lost sleep. I didn't even relish their @ss-whooping by Michigan. Their is a grown man that is on my train each morning that wears both a ND baseball hat AND a ND shirt....every.....stinkin'....day. Never have understood that kind of action. I get it...you're a big fan.
'69 Cubs. Ouch. But, you still can't bum me out, dude! The Cubs are in first place! I'm going to the last home game on Sunday! All is right with the world! I can't say I'm thrilled that Big Z will be on the mound, but I have faith that they'll clinch and I won't flinch. Very Jesse Jackson, no? They'll clinch and I won't flinch. Come on, let's sing a chorus of "Happy. Happy. Joy. Joy." and I'll see you in the Series! I can smell October! Can't you smell it?
It's much less effective when you can't just post the picture, but I'll be the first to admit I'm not great on this new-fangled typin' machine with the T.V. on it. So, click on the link and, "HA! In your face!", once you go click on it. I've got time. I'll hang up now and wait for my answer.
