Need to know how much cuff should be visible on your suitcoat sleeve? He's your man. Need to know how to make a Bouquet Garni? There's no one better. But for your own sanity, leave him out of any discussion that involves sports.

He may know who Grady is.

My lack of sporting knowledge is legendary...I'll give Ruydah that. But as much as I like to play dumb for his amusement, I know who 97% of the current Red Sox are. Ruydah did catch me in the summer with that whole Clay Bucholz thing...I mean, c'mon...he was pitching in his second game, for crying out loud. I now refer to him as Boston's Kerry Wood. One magical game, now kaput.

This goes back quite a ways. After the Red Sox won in 2004 (I think it was '04...wasn't it?), a co-worker saw me on ebay looking looking for a mini Red Sox jersey for my son. He immediately told me to not jump on that bandwagon too quickly. I explained to him that I had been a Sox fan since I was a tot...and he didn't believe me. So....I conferenced my good friend Ruydah on the phone...I man I have known most of my adult life, and asked him, "Since you've known me, what baseball team have I followed?". Without missing a beat he replied, "The Tampa Bay Devil Rays." I think he hung up right after that leaving me to explain that that was not the case. I understand you had to be there to find that highlarious...but it was highlarious. BTW, after winning the WS in '04....or'03....or whenever, I have a hard time wearing any Boston garb for fear of being seen as a bandwagoner. I do have a hat or two.

I also believe he is angry that I gifted him a Cub's-colored Boston Red Sox hat that I cut out a red "C" and taped over the "B" for his 40th birthday. Nor do I think he was too happy that I gave his oldest child a Red Sox hat when she was 1 year-old.

If he didn't know how to make Napoli-style pizza and mix a nice martini, I'd have nothing to do with him. Nothing at all.

And BTW, Mr. Smartass...everyone knows who Grady was. Best character on the show. I loved that guy.

You've got to be kidding! That's when Sanford & Son "jumped the shark", you big dummy!

I politely disagree. I loved Grady. Grady was funny.

I suppose you were a Curly Joe fan, too?

I will beat Fish to the punch...yes, I realize it is hard to believe, but the clothes still fit. That's not why I am not wearing them.

I see the Red Sox winning the series 4-2.

One thing Ruydah can't do sportswise is bet. If he picks the BoSox to win, no need for me to watch. The Rockies will be celebrating on the 28th.

Truth be told, I thought the Red Sox would lose to Cleveland 3-1. I realize it is a seven game series....but I will never live that typo down. Sort of solidified things for Ruydah.

Anyone need to know how to make a roux?

I just spent the better part of the last 4 minutes trying to explain to a guy in the office that Angora is fur product from a rabbit...not a cat. One shouldn't mess with me when it comes to fur or fiber.

Wait a second. You can't fool me. Wasn't there a war in Angora?

Reminds me of a Frank Zappa song, I'll refrain from citing it as the lyrics are a bit racy.

Yes, I'd be the blonde in my avatar! The black-haired man would be my darling husband or the latest cute jock on whom I've developed a crush!
