This was a little before my time in Glen Ellyn, but an interesting walk down memory lane and the history of some businesses and people in Glen Ellyn. Sounded like a fun place.
I remember, and I was between 2-5... Seemed like a long drive for us, coming from Addison.
How I wish, how I wish you were here. We're just two lost souls Swimming in a fish bowl, Year after year, Running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here.
I remember it well, too. Didn't it relocate to the strip mall next to 7-11 on Park and Roosevelt. Different crowd, but the same name. That is when Alfies was where the Shell station is, right?

There was absolutely a Big Banjo in the strip mall on Roosevelt, facing Park, in the early-to-mid 90's. Possibly before that, but that's when I arrived on the scene to pour a few back at happy hours there.

I totally remember going there as a kid, I was only two or three, but I can actually remember the cool "Popcorn Kettle" and getting free paper dishes of popcorn while waiting at a table for our food. I never knew what happened to this place until now. Was there ever a clown walking around making balloon animals? I seem to remember something like that.

Put it at 5 Corners. The parcel that features the lovely Marathon station has a sign that states "Forced Sale". Could be the universe is aligned for a new BB.
