further, can anyone tell me where the Skelly Gas station was?

GlenEllynite |
YES, How about the restaurant there after Patch Brothers ? |

GlenEllynite |
How about the Clark, and what was it famous for ? |
GlenEllynite |
There were two Clark stations as I recall. One on rt 38, one at Prospect & Pennsylvania. The one in town had some of it's gas dumped down the sewer. I'm stumped about Skelly.

There is a little parking lot and "park" just west of Baird Warner, next to an antique shop, across the street from the carpet store. That is where the Skelly was. As to the rest at the former patch Bros, Track 29.
BTW, can anyone remember George Goodrich???? What did he do for a living? |

Bonus question: Who got in trouble for dumping that gas into the sewer? |

It pays being married to a Wagner! I used to go with my father-in-law and his f-i-l to George's farm in the '70s. Darned if I know what he did, though.

Wasn't that the gas station with the Pink Ladies Aid Tow Truck ? |

GlenEllynite |
What do you mean No Prize ? You're going to let Mrs A have a better contest than you? |
GlenEllynite |
Nope. Ladies aide was Miller's Texaco at Park & Roosevelt NE corner. Ken & Will's (Major)was Park & Crescent NW corner.

And the survey SAID! Gregg is correct. The brands he carried were Pure and then Union 76.
Next question: how long has Chins Chop Suey been in town? And yes, G. Goodrich was the last of the farmers in GE. He did grading, snow plowing, etc., His "farm" was over near Western. |

Do any of you remember the airport at the corner of Roosevelt and Finley? How about the Oval carved out of the fields that the kids raced their cars and motorcycles around in the mid 60's, where the links now stands! It was pure mayhem over there, some got hurt, but nobody got sued! Aah, for those simple days again!
BTW, what was Crater? |

Will Major, the Realtor??? “In a letter to "Dear Abby" a reader complained that a gay couple was moving in across the street and wanted to know what he could do to improve the quality of the neighborhood. Her suggestion - 'You could move.'” |
