Fish, you are partially right. Actually the Tomb was supposed to be accessed off old 35th St. which was an old gravel/dirt Farm Road in the 60s. Peabody was in a glass tomb and the Monks would ride horses and chase you with big clubs if they caught you there. I worked part time at a gas station near there and we used to have a great time telling teenagers from all over the city [especially Catholic Schools] the story and directions to the Tomb.We had the story down pat and since we weren't much older, they took the story hook, line and sinker. Peabody's was definitely a regular visit. I graduated high school in 1979...I only act like a child here. In reality, I am old.

How about the Oval carved out of the fields that the kids raced their cars and motorcycles around in the mid 60's, where the links now stands! It was pure mayhem over there, some got hurt, but nobody got sued! Aah, for those simple days again!

I was not born yet, but my Uncle has told me many stories of cars being raced on what is now the village links. My Grandparents lived on Dawes Ave. which is now the entrance off of Lambert for maintenance on the links. My mom, and uncle went to Wagner School. Here is one that might give me away my dad owned Park and Butterfield Standard from 1970-1995. (No Formal Names Please)

Good Day To All

Big Red, does this mean I worked for a relative of yours when I pumped gas at Main & Roosevelt in '71?

I towed a yellow Jeepster to his house a few months ago. I got to pet a pig, too!

Lenny came to my dad's services when he died a few years ago. My family really appreciated that. (again... no names please). We know each other, big red.

Where you been Queeny? I see you are letting a little information about you slip through the cracks....a slippery slope it is.

I been smelling the pretty Boss Plumbing boys at Starbucks and working too many hours at <deleted>. And smirking at the threadjacking antics of you and Clam, of course. And not getting help for my mental disorder... oh! And I created a My Space account. Oops, had to go back and delete the hint about where I work - between that and My Space and big red I'd be found out fer shur.

Some people are like Slinkies… not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when they fall down a flight of stairs.
