Mrs. Yoss got a new job and is looking to replace the departed Audi TT with a BMW Z4. We looked at nearly every loacal dealership, Auto Trader, Cars.com and Ebay Motors. We've come close, but no Z4.

Were looking at 2003-05, she prefers the red exterior, black interior. She will also consider silver/gray exterior with the red interior. If anyone knows someone who is on the cusp of selling a Z4, let me know.

BMW CPO PAGE

According to BMW N.A., they are all over the place. Unless, of course, you are a stickler for color...then used cars get reeeeeeally hard to find. There appear to be bright red ones everywhere...if you can live w/o black interior.

Also, don't be afraid to look outside the region. You can get a car shipped from anywhere for about $1,000. And if it is a CPO car...chances are very good that little if anything will be wrong with it. And if there is something wrong with it...BMW will fix it.

One step ahead of you. Found a 2004 with the 3.0 liter in Grand Rapids, an easy daytrip. Were waiting to hear back, hopefully tomorrow. And it's a certified car.

Yoss, have you heard back from Grand Rapids? If you have not gone yet be very aware of the construction in Michigan. We went to MI last weekend and ran into construction on 196 in South Haven. You can bypass South Haven by staying on 94 and get to Grand Rapids via 131.

Called them the next day, the car was sold. Were postponing the search until June. Some home improvements items have been given higher priority by the CFO.

Yoss...you had a 4 day window of opportunity. Should strike while the iron is hot!

That's exactly what I told the CFO.

You can also ask a current BMW owner if they are a member of the BMW Car Club of America (BMWCCA) and see if they have an issue of the monthly magazine (Roundel) sitting around. There is large classified section in each issue.

If any of you BMW drivers gets these periodicals, please keep your eyes open for a 2003-05 Z4.

Thanks

Slim pickin's in the May Roundel. For about $5K more...you can get a same year M3 convertible...low miles. Room in back for your friends.

There is an '04 Alpine White Z4 with red interior in North Carolina.
Contact me and I'll give you my super-secret BMWCCA access code to their exclusive site.

There's a buch on Ebay Motors, including some red ones. My first choice would be the dark gray with red interior, but there's a nice silver one at Elmhurst BMW that we test drove. I could live with that one, but the wife is looking to hold off a month or so.

Just that you used simple words versus "anthracite gray" to describe your color preferences. Not like you.

Yoss, have you ever been to Fox Valley Motors over on North Ave and County Farm Road? He'a a Lambo, Panoz, and Lotus dealer. Lots of nice eye candy. Ask for Bill Nuccio Sr. or Jr. Reason being, sometimes they get some kick a** trade ins, you never know what you can find there like clean pre owned BMWs, Vettes, Porches, etc, etc. At that very least, they can tell you wholesale value on the car that you are looking for.

Fox Valley has some nice cars but definitely a place where you need to practice buyer awareness. I've seen cars there that obviously had been in accidents that they said hadn't been in an accident. That being said, I'd buy from them before I'd ever step foot in Luxury Motors.
