Valentine's day is coming up and we will have many deliveries that need to be made in the local area. Last year we had approximately 120. We are anticipating the same amount this year and hopefully more.

We only have one driver for our company and we cannot possibly handle that load alone. Last year we hired out drivers but that gets iffy not knowing the people. We would like to know if any local organization would volunteer members and their vehicles to make deliveries for us on the 12th, 13th, and 14th.

In exchange all the delivery fees we collect would be donated to your organization. We charge at least $8.00 per delivery and can advertise that the delivery is being handled by YOUR organization to encourage additional donations.

A single person can handle 15-20 deliveries in a 4 hour time window. We need about 4-6 people to comfortably handle the load. Where else can you donate only 4 hours of your time, and maybe $10-$15 in gas and get a return of $120 to $160. This is a fabulous opportunity for your group.

Also, for your help, we would give any of your club members 10% off any valentines day purchase. We think this would be a win-win situation for both of us.

Please let us know as soon as possible so we can begin hiring or working with you to fulfill our holiday sales goals.

Mini's could probably hold at least 10 arrangements. We have them packed in bags, and traveling boxes. Most of the deliveries are close. You can always come back and re-load.

I wouldn't mind doing it myself. Always sounds like fun -delivering flowers for a fun occasion. (asking for money like that commercial would be a good spin too ). What days do those fall on?

Speaking of flowers, on a side note-my M-I-L's b-day was Sunday. I arranged for flowers to be FTD'd (if there is such a thing anymore) to her in Nevada on Saturday, 1 day before her b-day. Never got follow-up- so I decided to call the flower company who in turn tried to trace delivery and even called their house and fished around to see if flowers had indeed arrived. No go, nothing delivered. So after several more days, it's now yesterday- Wednesday, and I e-mailed my M-I-L to see if she indeed got something, anything, from a florist. She states, sorry I didn't call, yes, I finally got them Tuesday night. (mind you this was a delivery for Saturday.) Her neighbors had them since Saturday, on display in their house! Card open and all. What gall! The original florist is horrified and embarrassed.
Sorry for long story but I'm still spinning from this 4 day ordeal! Flowers can be a lot of money.

Do tell, how was it discovered that the neighbors had her flowers brightening their home?? How did she get them back? Good story for your MIL, though!

Maybe the "vociferous little minority" should establish non-profit status and use the money for promotional materials. Or, maybe Go Downtown would like to do this. I'd drive for either group.

Their florist, (NV one) finally did a follow-up to my inquiries and responded to my mother in law Tuesday night stating: “oh, we delivered them Saturday morning and left them with your neighbor, to the right.” My father in law then went to the neighbors, knocked and the door opened and he could see the flowers on display, on the side, in the house, behind the woman answering the door. They (neighbors) just responded, “ oh – yah! Here ya go!”

My florist still never knew what happened until Wednesday night, after I told them. I wonder if my MIL will get more flowers since my florist was frantically searching for another florist to deliver another set of flowers?

I would insist that another arrangement be sent under the circumstances...that's the least they could do.

Agreed - You have to wonder what other deliveries these good neighbors have accepted for others over the years . . . .
