Our usual and very bright accountant has had some family issues come up and thus cannot complete two of our IRS returns.

Ask your usual accountant for a referral. Your usual guy will be more cooperative with one of his buddies.

We did ask. It's a specialty field with estate tax law. Came up empty.

Yep- Estate taxe is going to stall you. When I was tinkering around and getting my mom's final numbers and paperwork ready as well as closing off the bank accounts, I asked 3 accountants, all friends on how to handle IRAs and such and all 3 were like, don't know... don't do that type of tax.

...?Are you looking for an attorney that does both? You mentioned estate and tax law, wasn't sure... The DuPage Bar could recommend an attorney with accounting experience.

The husband of the owner of Maison Suzanne is apparently a very good accountant. He has been recommended to me by three separate people. Call her and get his number....469-0111. Office is in Warrenville or Napertucky, I believe.

Plus an added side bonus of using him is that you can just have your refund made into 'purchase points' to use a Maison Suzanne. I think that what must have happened to me...spent my entire refund there one year.

Janet Sullivan is an estate lawyer with an office in Wheaton. Her husband, Jim is an accountant. They live in Glen Ellyn. Both are ex-Andersen people.
