The only gin suitable for a martini is Beefeater. Discussed this thoroughly in a Vittorio's thread somewhere. A "friend" of mine served me Gordon's with tonic once - actually, not too bad with lots of lime. On second thought, Gordon's sucks a$$. Don't you even. BTW, what happened to my topless waitress idea? I'd pony up for that.
You won't be disappointed. Remember: people tend to drink more when you have a bartender. Remind your staff not to pour too heavy. I did not do this once, and wound up with several overnight guests!
I once volunteered to tend bar at an in laws wedding reception. Kept a full glass of good scotch near my right hand the whole night. Jabbered away and poured strong drinks all evening. Thought I was the greatest bartender.
Worst hangover EVER. Woke up the next day smelling lake a stale bar rag. Opened my eyes to see my wife's face glaring daggers at me. brrrrrrrr.
A million dollars plus free O'bama health care would not get me to do that again.
