Congratulations to D87 for winning a meritorious budget award. See announcement HERE
The best line that could come only from the new education system: "The award only is presented to school systems that have met or exceeded the Meritorious Budget Award program criteria."
I betchya' every district from here to Springfield got the same award...and acknowledged it with the proper form of English...we may not be word smart but we certainly know how to count (fingers and toes)
This is Deja Vu all over again, folks. They got the same award last year. See The ensuing thread here
Some salient quotes from that thread came from Sherlock

Like ISO 9000 standards, which show that there is a documented, repeatable process in place, I do not think this award means that the budget shows the district is operating at maximum efficiency, just that the budget is presented in a certain format and all the numbers add up correctly.
Is is also interesting to note that the cost to District 87 was $900 to apply. MBA Program Application
In 2001, there were 64 districts in the country (or world) that applied and 56 received awards. MBA FAQ 2005
Also, District 87's business manager, Gary Frisch, is on the Meritorious Budget Awards Committee. Meritorious Budget Awards Committee
