Preamble:
Physical Education (PE) waivers were allowed in District 87 prior to the class of 2013. They were allowed for the following reasons on a case by case basis:

1. Interscholastic Athletics Waiver (Grades 11 & 12)

2. Admission to an Institution of Higher Learning (Grades 11 & 12)

3. Completion of Graduation Requirements (Grades 11 & 12)

4. Private Instruction P.E. (9-12)

Eliminating PE waivers forces students to summer school or does not allow them to take the classes that they want and need.

The School District claims that all students should be taking the most rigorous schedule possible, but that is not possible if PE needs to be factored in each semester.

Petition:
We, the undersigned, call on the Board of Education of Glenbard School District 87 to change their Policy to allow PE Waivers.
