"High Schools....The Best and The Worst"..."How Does Your High School Stack Up?"

Chicago Magazine isn't exactly what I'd consider an intelligent publication...but I'm still afraid to look. But I will...

The rankings aren't nearly as clear-cut as you might think...what is interesting is their real estate report. For the year they published (ended July this year) our average sale price was over $500,000 and there were four hundred and some sales....no other burb had that number of sales with sale prices like ours. That's good! I guess we are still doing better than many others.

Nothing too shocking. GW and GS sort of in the upper middle of the pack in Du Page County. GS scores seemed a little better than GW. But GW seems to service a broader area of students.

Boy....Hinsdale Central really seems like a good school. Wheaton and Naperville, apparently, have excellent school.

Great return on our investment in education. Pay out the most and get 50% in return. Maybe they should be looking at scan tron formats, etc, to see if there is a connection between average test scores as compared to state level? I don't buy the racial or socio economice makeup of GE vs. other communities. Naperville is virtually identical to GE. As I've been stating for 4 years+ now, no accountability on behalf of the district. Business as usual.

What do you mean with the " " around your first statement? Did someone else say that and what do they mean by Glendale Heights students don't count in West's report? Of course they do! If they go to West, they count....I'm baffled by that first statement. Can you clarify what was meant?
