Hey Scribbler, seen the nice plowed frontage in front of GW on Crescent? Not sure what is goin on there but big event tonight at GW. I guess necessity is the mother of invention, no? The area in front of the high school sure looks a helluve lot better. Your thoughts please.

What thoughts? It's good that they did it - no complaints here. But it's not something I would think would be a priority during a busy winter like this. So I chalk this up to service "above and beyond." I guess I have different expectations than you do, in this case. There have been big events there several times in the last month, when the snow was still piled high. It's probably just coincidence in this case.
Now, talk to me about the sidewalks in the CBD, and I'm sure we're probably in agreement there.

Dear Scrib: just responding to your original post when you said it couldn't be done. I agree, sidewalks are an issue as well in a town where we lay out the big bucks for public works and school budgets. It really doesn't cost a lot of $$$$ Just some imagination and a little elbow grease.

Oh - sorry! I often forget what I post. But it probably does cost $$$ - you've got to pay the guys who apply the elbow grease!

Wasn't sure what old Gus was talking about, and I think my gripe is something different. There are piles of snow on the south side of Crescent on each side of Crescent Court (I think that's what it is called) that are hilariously dangerous. Never could two piles of snow be placed in an area that was already extra fun to navigate from a limited view situation. Especially if you are in a Mini and not a Navigator.
I rarely point out situations that are dangerous to one's health, but these piles are completely laughable and totally block the view from both eastbound and westbound traffic. Mark my words...somebody is going to get slugged there in the coming weeks.

Simple solution. Have a village dude drive one of those huge-@ss front loaders that we have and cut the thing in half. Move the snow elsewhere.
I'll call the village tomorrow and timestamp the conversation. That way if anyone gets whacked, GE fan, you'll be able to make some dough from their suffering. The village has insurance for that, right?

These piles of snow are not new and they keep getting bigger. It is not a fun drive!

98% of them are harmless. This particular pair could cause someone their well-being. Not certain what the thinking was there.

We speak, they act. Sometimes I really think there is someone smart at Village Hall after all.
