What is the policy for underage drinking? Especially those ticketed by poilce? My understanding was they loose all after school programs...sports, cheerleading, plays.
From what the kids are telling me it looks to be a selective policy.
One of the things that I liked the most about the much maligned former basketball (and softball) coach was his personal punishment for players that were caught drinking or using drugs...If it happened even once, he didn't want to see your face again. Period and end of story. Sound harsh? Maybe, but it was effective...not one kid during my kids' time at West who had him as a coach ever got into trouble while under his watchful eye. Too big of a risk.
The new coach is following the book however...I believe there was an issue with a 10th grade basketball player who was suspended for his 20% of the season and was subsequently MOVED UP TO VARSITY! A bit of a mixed message there...screw up and be rewarded!
