the following is an excerpt from the GW web site regarding a re-showing of their big hit musical "how to succeed in business w/o really trying." it will be re-show tomorrow in order to raise funds for the GW theater troop's entry in the state's Theatre Festival.
hope everyone can attend to help this worthy cause, and have their minds blown by the kids' unbelievable talents. here's the excerpt: It's been more than 10 years since Glenbard West took a play to the Illinois High School Theatre Festival, but that's about to change. Glenbard West's musical, "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying," has been chosen as one of a few shows from across the state to be presented at this year's Theatre Festival. Theatre Festival takes place Jan. 10 to 12 at Illinois State University. Glenbard West will perform its show twice on Friday, Jan. 11, in Stroud Auditorium. All 88 students (including actors, technicians, and orchestra members) and nine chaperones will travel to Illinois State University with this production. The Illinois High School Theatre Festival attracts more 150 high schools from across the state with close to 4,000 participants. It's the largest statewide theatre festival in the United States. Glenbard West’s theatre department has been working to try to raise the $20,000 needed to bring the show to the Theatre Festival. To date they have raised $11,000, and fund-raising efforts continue. The community has the opportunity to see “How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying” one more time right before the show travels to Illinois State University. Glenbard West will have a final dress rehearsal, which is open to the public, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, in the auditorium , 670 Crescent Blvd. in Glen Ellyn. There will be no charge for this performance, but donations to the Theatre Fest travel fund would be greatly appreciated. Further information is available by calling Mike Fox, Glenbard West theatre director, at (630) 469-8600 Ext. 2887. |

it was a great show back when they originally staged it. With the time and effort they've been putting into it since then, I'd expect it should be AWESOME!

Tony boy participated in Theaterfest in '92 when Mark Kaetzer (now @ East) was Theater Director at West. Great experience for him, but I'll let him tell you.
