Ooh, that cranberry punch sounds great! We make a similar drink with cranberry juice, orange juice, coconut rum and lime slices that is outstanding. I bet this punch would be great with coconut rum.

Cosmos-They were very popular.

Did you really stop in? Did the dogs get after you?

I told our guests to just come on in. It worked fine-nothings missing. Big Grin

I don't get it. You all have your favorite cocktail drink. I have nothing but beer. I feel left out. My parents didn't drink cocktails, is that why I don't feel compelled to drink them? How did you all find out what your favorite cocktail was and get hooked on it??

My momma is a big martini drinker, now I'm a big martini drinker. As soon as I started drinking, my mom was thrilled that she "and her baby daughter could drink together now". Really, it only *sounds* unhealthy. Mom's a lot of fun! I take mine dirty, mom is a straight up kind of gal. My only bad experience with mom? After splitting a bottle of vodka (maybe an inch or so left...) the next morning I was dramatically ill. We were spending the night at my parents' house, and I awoke to my mom standing over me, all bright-eyed and chirpy, saying "you feel sick? I feel just fine! Must be food poisoning!". It's sad when your mother can out-drink you. A sure sign I'm not in college anymore.

Danadobry, I remember the first time I went out with my daughter when she became of age. It wasn't all that long ago that she stood over me in the same situation. It doesn't feel any better when she calls you a rookie.

We did these Pomegranate Cosmos last year and they were a big enough hit that everyone is asking for them again. I like that they can be mixed ahead of time to save time for fun instead of mixing drinks all night:

2 cups (16 ounces) good vodka (recommended: Stolichnaya or Finlandia)
1 cup (8 ounces) orange liqueur (recommended: Cointreau)
1 cup (8 ounces) pomegranate juice (recommended: Pom Wonderful)
1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (3 limes)
Lime peel strips, to garnish

Combine the vodka, orange liqueur, pomegranate juice, and lime juice in a pitcher and refrigerate until ready to use. Pour the mixture into frozen martini glasses with a twist of lime peel and serve immediately.
