Does anyone have a recipe for NATIVEHEAT? I just use the cake mixes. I do sometimes make them in ice cream cones which kids really like.

Chocolate Cupcakes
Aka Ultimate Comfort Food

2 sticks butter
2 cups brown sugar (packed)
Cream until smooth and fluffy

3 eggs
1+ teaspoon vanilla
Add eggs, one at a time. Scrape down bowl. Add vanilla.

3 cups all-purpose flour
½ cup cocoa powder
¾ teaspoon. baking soda
¾ teaspoon salt
Add dry ingredients and mix until blended.

¼ cup sour cream
Mix in sour cream and beat for 1 minute.

1 cup hot water
Add hot water and stir on low speed just until incorporated.

Line cupcake pans with paper muffin cups and fill each cup two-thirds full. Bake at 325 for 20 to 25 minutes until firm.

Frost with butter frosting.

I am fairly certain that given a cape and a nice tiara, I could save the world.

Depending on the size, between 24 and 30. They freeze well.

Cicadas can certainly be substituted for at least one of those three eggs, can't they?

They say cicadas are like almonds so why not substitute the vanilla?

Good point, M. Vanilla substitute. Who's gonna try it first?

Another idea... if one "processes" the cicadas, then waits a while, will they ferment?
