what a game last night against south. the place was packed. GW lost in a heartbreaker, but it was such fun to be there and experience the west vs. south rivalry. the superfans on each side playfully taunting each other. the players diving, slashing and playing full metal all the way. johnny shurna is injured, but the rest of these kids have hearts as big as biester. and skills/abilities too! last game of the tourney is tonight against GN. go. you won't be disappointed. | ||

Second that emotion...it was great fun last night. Both teams played their hearts out in a charged atmosphere. Players and coaches clearly rose to the occasion. And the Biester setting rocks. The Superfans broke us up. West cheered "We have windows!" to South. South countered with "A.C.T." When South's Banana-fan won the halftime free-throw contest, South's fans started a "She's a girl!" chant to taunt West's male competitor. In a perfect comeback, West's Superfans answered "No she's not!" Poor girl...but it was hilarious and she joined in the laughter! South's "15-14" cheer was countered by West's "Boring" response and so on. All in all, a great event with lots of families attending. Another Mayberry moment. Tonight should be great as well... | |||

tonight at 6:00 is the first varsity game. i don't now for sure, but i suspect GW plays in the second game at 7:30 (it would make sense to have the host finish the night/tourney). they play GN. note: the soph's and frosh play at 6:00 too in the field house. not sure about shurna''s return. i'm sure it won't be tonight during a non-conference tourney. | |||

West vs. North, South vs. East, 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Not sure about Shurna...apparently he played a little against East on Monday night. Last night the West coaching staff was telling fans something like "He can play briefly if needed." | |||

here's a tip for those attending the sophomore game: steer clear of #21's dad. over-the-top sports dad who's loud, demanding/demeaning (to his and other kids), and LOVES to coach/call plays to the entire team. did i mention loud? | |||
