The football program at GBW has not been anything to get excited about for a long time. Any word on who the new head coach will be?

It should be a grand social occassion to go to the H.S. game, but I don't know many people who's kids don't go to the school that attend the games.

I guess it's a tradition to play on Saturday afternoon's here, but from where I'm from high school football is about playing under the lights on Friday nights.

Why compete with soccer games, youth football and college games on T.V. when they could play on Friday nights?

Any answers......

They do not play on Friday nights, because Duchon Field has no lights.

Why it’s worth watching a game there

"This affluent community in the western suburbs of Chicago lays claim to one of the most scenic football settings around. The school itself is built in the style of a castle, complete with roof turrets, atop what was then called Honeysuckle Hill in 1922. The Hilltoppers’ home field is a short downhill walk away. The field’s backdrop is Lake Ellyn Park, a man-made lake surrounded by copious trees. Spectators in the bleachers of the home side are treated to a colorful display of foliage on autumn Saturday afternoons. The field has no lights to mar interfere with the picturesque setting."

I guess it's hard to see the foliage in the dark. At least many of the road games are on Friday night.

That's a good name for a football coach.

Wonder if that's how he got the job.

If GBW has hired a new football coach why hasn't the school made an announcement to the effect. Spill the beans GBW so the community can get behind the new coach.

They probably need the board to vote on accepting the contract

He looks like a coach and he comes from Hinsdale Central. I hope to God he brings a playbook. This actually looks like a good choice. And his name is Chad...which is a tough name. Just look at Chad Everett.

20-10 well above .500.

Per HC Football Site:

In his three years as McHenry's head football coach, Coach Hetlet guided his teams to a 20-10 record and a trip to the state playoffs each year. His teams have produced 10 Academic All-State and three All-State players. At Johnsburg High School, the football team built up an impressive 58-19 record over the eight years Coach Hetlet was there.

With any luck...last year's Sophomore team might get a play book in their hands right before they receive their diplomas. How the **** can a team compete when they don't have a play book...and are playing teams that have had a play book for 5 or 6 years? Oh, wait...they can't. And they didn't.

I'm giving Chad my full support...have already contacted the Dettmer's about a Booster Membership...and have had a GW jersey made with his name on the back and a big number 1.
