My sister is getting married this summer and would like to
have the bachelorette party in Chicago.

Do you have any suggestions? We moved here AC(after children)so we don't know the social scene that well.

The girls will be traveling from MI on Friday, June 10 and returning on Sunday, June 12.

We would like to do the "bride to be at the bar scene" without strippers or strip clubs.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I would suggest Green Dolphin Street in Chicago. A good friend of mine from high school had her bachelorette party here and she said it was great.

It is a huge facility and the atmosphere is classy enough to impress without being too stuffy. The jazz played here is some of the best in Chicago & the food was pretty incredible when I was here about 6-months ago. You can take a peek at the facility by going to:

How about The Stable in Glen Ellyn ? I can probably get Clamjam and the Fishes to play for nothing. Might get Fan to do [what else] the Fandango too. I'm sure Yoss and Jen would do their garage band thing and M2C would surely contribute her 2 cents. Wink

Dick's is a terrible, terrible place for parties of any kind. Unless you are a tourist.

Dick's is a terrible, terrible place to do anything.

"The City Health Department shuttered Dick's Last Resort after finding cockroaches in the kitchen, mold in an ice machine, a faulty walk-in cooler, as well as unsafe food temperatures."

Trust me...every restaurant has issues...as well as your own kitchen. This one just has really, really disgusting issues.

Dick's last resort is just plain old awful. I have been there three times which is three times too many.

I see by the number of views that I got everybody's attention with the title of the post.
Thank you for your feedback and please keep it coming.
We went to Dick's Last Resort a couple of years ago when my sister and her fiance were in town for Thanksgiving.

How old is your sister and her friends? That might help.

I have no problem giving out my sisters age!!
My sister is 33 and the rest of the ladies are in their late 20's to early 30's.

What Clam meant to ask was how many cats does she own?

Like I said, I heard it was a good place...besides, you are a guy (i think) how many bachelorette parties you've been to anyway?

When I was single I would try to attend as many as possible.

Last one I went to was with a group about that same age. We did dinner at Maggiano's on Clark. Then we walked to The Baton Club for the show. After that those of us who were still willing to stay out went to that Irish bar on Clark by Maggiano's for drinks.

Our other choice was a limo trip that took us to three different bars, not clubs. We felt we were a little old for the clubs. They can set it up so that the guys go to their bars and everyone meets up at the last one.

Another thought could be dinner and bar hopping in downtown Naperville

Fanette and I have been to the Baton with some other couples. It was bachelorette heaven. And they were having a great time. I even surprised myself and enjoyed it...in some weird way.

For drinking purposes, I would not suggest going to Fado' (the Irish bar - which is a great place but not for bachelorette parties). Instead, I would but go down to Rockit. Great crowd and great bar. They have pretty good food as well.
