I am a fan (lover) of Bruce Springsteen. My husband won't even THINK about getting us tickets for that performance. Come on! I'm a Jersey Girl! Bob Dylan (another of my soul mates) is also coming to town. My husband keeps saying that he's "thinking" about it; but keeps "forgetting". And he says he loves me?
Hey Nuts! I'm a Jersey Girl too and proud of it. I just don't dig Bruce. All my friends drive me crazy about "The Boss", though most of them wish he would "just shut up and sing". We still go to our house every summer in Lavallette. How about you? Hope you get to go to the concerts.
It was unbeliebably good. Beyond my expecations. Took a few songs to warm up – but then he rocked the joint. From Promised Land on, the place was going nuts. Badlands was spine chilling, and the encore was raucus. Phenomenal.
The band were as tight as you would expect - excellent musicians able to create a cresecendo of sound. True talent. And the Brooce kept time, jumped, hollered and played for the entire set - around 2 hours and 10 minutes.
Interesting mix of crowd - the OAP in front of me was at least 70 and even he got to his feet for the encore! Lots of groups of drunk wimmin trying to relive their youth and as many fat uncoordinated white guys as you can imagine (esp me). The new generation was in the front row -with Bruce doing a nice talkie piece with a 12 year old! 'Young people in an old folks home' is I believe how Brooce phrased it! There was definetly some die hard fans there that knew every word to every song.
He left the United Centre to a cacophony of applause. Just amazing. A truely spectacular night.
( I assume you were in front of the TV watching Marie Osmond faint??)
Trying to help one child with lowest common denominator homework, the other with a bird of prey report and all the while making sure Dallas Clark did not score too many points....I was exhausted.
