I've only caught glimpses of the show on HBO and found it totally unsuitable for consumption. Shallow bimbo's were kind of cute when I was in my 20's, but now they just seem pathetic.
I'm struggling to understand the allure of these movies. The first one seem to have a big opening weekend, then promptly tanked. But there seems to be enough of a following that someone ponied up to film a second one. Evidently there were some unanswered questions from the first one.
Ladies-What's the deal? Is it like watching a car crash, you know it's awful, but you can't turn away? Or is it some creepy escapism? And do you really think SJP is sexy? If so, see your Optometrist pronto.
BTW-If you’re a guy and enjoy this foursome, don't post, you'll only open yourself up to ridicule and scorn from other men. Real men.

Uhm....not just men to ridicule....
I don't much care for chick flicks to begin with, but I REALLY cannot stand that this ridiculous tv show did so well as to have a movie.
Apparently it's a big hit with ladies in their 20s and even some in their 30s, though. Many of my female friends, unfortunately, are into it. While it does occassionally have some funny writing, the only other reason I can stomach even the commercials is because of Chris Noth (who's, unfortunately, not even in most of them). I like some eye candy here and there.

The first 2-3 seasons of the series were actually pretty good; remember at the time, it was unusual to see single women in their thirties with strong friendships who didn't really need men in their lives. But then the show really did take a detour; the characters became caricatures of themselves, shrill and shallow, and all of a sudden they all did need men in their lives in order to live happily ever after. Bleh.
For the moment in time, those first couple of seasons live fondly in my memories. But I had absolutely no desire to see these women continue to act like spoiled little girls, well into their forties. I didn't see the first movie, and won't see the 2nd. But you might catch me watching reruns of the series occasionally (although I generally pull all the shades down so the neighbors won't see).
I don't know what to say other than I like to watch the show. I never watched in "real time" because we don't have HBO, but I've watched it in syndication and enjoyed it.
I didn't see the movie and won't see this one either, but that's more because the only movies I see these days are kids' movies, not because I'm actively boycotting this particular movie.
Of course, I thought that Hot Tub Time Machine looked hilarious, too, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

No plans to see the A Team either. Never watched the show and from the trailers I've seen, no reason to see the movie at the theater. I will probably watch it if it ends up on HBO in six months. It beats Ice Road Truckers.

I watched it a few times, mostly because my younger sister said the "Carrie" character always reminded her of me. I am sure she meant it as a compliment. At least she wasn't reminded of me by Samantha.
From what I have seen, the reviews for SATC-2 are coming in at about 1 star - recommended only for the dedicated series fan.
